
A Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) is an online visa pre-approval that's required for visa-free foreign visitors to enter South Korea.
Who needs a K-ETA
Foreigners entering Korea from visa waiver countries and visa-free countries
People traveling for tourism, visiting relatives, attending events or meetings, or business purposes
How to apply
Apply online at k-eta.go.kr
Apply at least 24 hours before boarding a flight or ship to Korea
K-ETA validity
The K-ETA is valid for two years from the date of approval
The K-ETA is valid for multiple trips over a period of three years for applicants who apply after July 3, 2023
K-ETA exemptions
Some countries are temporarily exempt from the K-ETA requirement
People aged 17 and under, and 65 and above, are exempt from the K-ETA requirement
U.S. citizens visiting Korea for 90 days or less for business or tourism are exempt from the K-ETA requirement until December 31, 2025
Entry determination
The final determination of entry will be made by the immigration official during the immigration process.
